A global family owned group providing specialty food ingredients came to Teccon looking to invest in a racking system in their own repurposed warehouse. Their aim was to increase inventory storage and reduce the costs of storing their products with 3rd party distribution networks.
WHAT WE ARE DELIVERING
We’re currently nearing completion on the installation of 2 blocks of Dexion P90 Drive-in Pallet Racking. Each block is 10 pallet bays wide and 3 bays high.
When complete the pallets will be stacked by the first-in, last-out (FILO) principle on front-to-back rails, mounted on both sides of the drive-in channels. This type of racking is perfect for large quantities of the same type of goods. Space can be used up to 90 percent more effectively with drive-in racking compared to standard pallet storage systems.
HOW IT WILL HELP
As well as the immediate benefit of bringing this storage in-house and reducing costs to external suppliers, Teccon’s design and planning ensured the available area has been optimised with high density storage. This gives the customer extra space over a conventional pallet racking system and will allow them to add more racking and storage in the future.
